Biology is undergoing a revolution with the overall goal of studying kinetic and stochastic responses of single cells to various stimuli, including pharmaceutical compounds, and other single cells. As instrument builders, our research focuses on the development of magnetic circuits for organizing and studying single cells using platforms than resemble a random access memory (RAM). For more details see our recent Nat. Comm paper (2014). We are looking for postdoctoral research associates to assist us with the development of a single cell array. The job responsibilities include microfabrication, microfluidics, image recognition and automation/controls, the development of miniaturized cell culture instruments, and single cell transcriptome analysis. PhD degrees in any field of engineering, applied physics are preferred, however we will also consider applicants with degrees in cellular and microbiology.
